First ever son-in-law

Hey everyone,

For those of you who don't yet know, I have some very exciting news - I got engaged to Ryan last Thursday. This means there is going to be a potential male in-law in the Keeling family, although so far, my efforts to persuade him to take on the surname have been unsuccessful. This is all extremely exciting for me and I am proudly displaying the ring on my finger, trying to put off giving it back to the jewellers to have it adjusted. The great question was asked on the balcony of the top floor of the oxo tower, which was a little chilly, but very special. We are thinking of getting married in Summer 2008, once we know the date, we will let you know and if anyone already has any plans, please tell me asap

Alice

Well this is definitely the most exciting blog with comments; Lizzie I'll be Keeling Love too (nothing dodgy you know what I mean), and as for a new identity Alice ...

Did you know that some friends of mine changed their surnames to Random Love when they got married. I've always like the idea of being a Keeling Love.

I was adamant I would never change my name until he actually asked me. I am thinking of making Keeling my second middle name. But hey - if I have to do this depole business, why not go the whole hog and get a whole new identity - could be interesing, any suggestions, anyone?

CONGRATULATIONS! I haven't got any plans for Summer 2008 yet. Fix a date now and we can all put it in our diaries to make sure we're in town and we dont die first. I'm not surprised that Ryan doesn't want to change his name even though Keeling is obviously a great one. Why not both keep your own names (like aunty Carolyn did.)
